Royals fans are clearly more excited about their team than other fans
You don’t want to kick a guy when he’s down, but Royals fans are clearly more excited for their team than Houston Astros supporters.
I know this because of Twitter.
On Tuesday, the Royals tweeted this:
If this gets 1000 RTs by 3pm CT, we'll give away this #AlexGordon signed baseball. #FaceOfMLB http://t.co/ePg8PvAmiL pic.twitter.com/R0puDpy6aw
— Kansas City Royals (@Royals) February 10, 2015The response is what you’d hope for:
We got WAY more than 1,000 RTs for the #AlexGordon ball. Good work #Royals fans! Our winner: @TacTiCz_Pr0z. Congrats! #FaceOfMLB
— Kansas City Royals (@Royals) February 10, 2015This is noteworthy, because I recall the Astros doing a similar giveaway last month:
If we get 1000 RTs by 2 pm CT, we'll give away an Altuve autographed baseball! RT now! #JoseAltuve #FaceOfMLB pic.twitter.com/zq7TW8nCRs
— Houston Astros (@astros) January 29, 2015As you can see, Astros fans didn’t come anywhere close to the 1,000 retweets. That led to this sad tweet:
We didn't get to 1000 RTs so we won't be giving away an Altuve autographed baseball now. We'll try again later. #JoseAltuve #FaceOfMLB
— Houston Astros (@astros) January 29, 2015The good news for Houston fans is the Astros tried again, and did in fact reach their goal.
RT (and those who RTd earlier) for chance to win #JoseAltuve signed baseball! RT before midnight. #FaceOfMLB pic.twitter.com/StqlzlVZcQ
— Houston Astros (@astros) January 29, 2015Winning the American League Championship Series undoubtedly helped energize Royals fans, but times are tough in Houston.
