Kentucky’s John Calipari ‘lost’ one of his players and #WhereIsTrey went viral
Things are going so well for the Kentucky basketball team that coach John Calipari can even joke about a player who has missed the last few games.
According to The Courier-Journal, freshman Trey Lyles has missed Kentucky’s last three games because of an undisclosed illness.
CBS Sports reported Monday that Lyles was back at practice but in a “limited” way. No one seems to know if Lyles will play tonight in the Wildcats’ game at LSU.
On Monday night, Calipari had a little fun:
I thought Trey got on plane but we can't find him.
— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) February 10, 2015 Has anyone in Lexington seen Trey? If anyone sees him, please let us know. #WhereIsTrey
— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) February 10, 2015 And it continued Tuesday morning:
Message to Trey: Wherever you are, if you don't make shoot around today, you won't play in the game tonight. #WhereIsTrey
— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) February 10, 2015 Calipari may not have realized it, but he created a monster with that #WhereIsTrey hashtag.
It spawned a number of “Home Alone” memes and much, much more.
