Groan.

James Sultan, the defense attorney representing former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in his murder trial, made an ill-advised attempt at humor on Thursday.

WBZ in Boston reported that while Sultan questioned state trooper Timothy Dowd about tire pressure, he then asked, “Did you ever receive training in football deflation devices?”

Yep, Sultan made a DeflateGate joke. During a murder trial.

WBZ reported that Sultan apologized on Friday, and was admonished by the judge.
