Raccoons invade dugout during minor-league baseball game

This is a new tactic for trying to win a game.

During a minor-league game on Wednesday in Charleston, S.C., the Rome (Ga.) Braves found their dugout had been invaded by two raccoons.

Of course, it wasn’t anything the Charleston River Dogs had done intentionally, but it made for an interesting delay as the Braves players and the groundscrew tried to use a rake to corral the animals into a garbage can.

As the announcer in the following video said: “This is the thrilling play-by-play that you sign up for when you become a minor-league broadcaster right here.”

The RiverDogs won 3-2 in 10 innings.

Oddly, this delay was somewhat similar to what you’d see in the television show “Parks and Recreation.”
