Iceland upsets England at European Championships and flood of Brexit jokes follow
We should have expected this.
Last week, voters in the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union, the so-called Brexit. As it so happens, the England national soccer team played a knock-out game at the European Championships.
And England was knocked out, as they suffered a stunning 2-1 defeat to Iceland. The Brexit jokes soon followed
To be honest, the Brexit numbers probably would have been larger had they voted after this game.
