Alex Gordon hit a long home run during a rehab game at Class AA
This has to be a sight for sore eyes, Royals fans.
Left fielder Alex Gordon started a rehab assignment on Sunday at Class AA Northwest Arkansas. Gordon suffered a broken scaphoid bone in his right hand after colliding with third baseman Mike Moustakas on a foul ball at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago during a game on May 22.
Gordon’s swing seems fine. After two games, he is hitting .500 (3 for 6) with a double, home run and a 1.167 slugging percentage. During Tuesday’s game, he hit this home run (video from MiLB.com):
I’m not sure who made the catch in the bullpen (maybe pitcher Eric Stout), but nice work.
Here is a view from the stands:

There is also video of Gordon hitting a double during his first game with the Naturals on Sunday:
If all goes well, Gordon should be back with the Royals on Friday, when they open a three-game series against the Houston Astros.
