James Shields has had a historically bad start to his White Sox career
The good news for James Shields is the White Sox are 1-1 in games he’s started since being traded to Chicago.
The bad news? He has a 16.71 ERA with a 3.29 WHIP.
On Monday, the White Sox rallied for a 10-9 win over the Detroit Tigers. Shields allowed seven runs (six earned) in five innings. In fact, all the runs were scored in the first three innings. And when Shields escaped a bases-loaded situation in the fourth inning, he received a Bronx cheer on Twitter.
Folks, there is a clean inning by James Shields.....cherish it.

There are some frightening numbers associated with Shields, not just in his first two starts with the White Sox, but going back to his time with the Padres.

James Shields is the first pitcher to allow 7+ runs in each of his first 2 games as a White Sock since Hugo "Dutch" Klaerner in 1934.

Not surprisingly, this has set up Shields for some criticism from White Sox fans. This is some of the tame responses.
