For Pete's Sake

Ex-KU star Jeff Withey’s girlfriend, a former Playboy Playmate, hacks his Instagram account, accuses him of cheating

Fans of former Kansas basketball star Jeff Withey were greeted with an unusual Instagram post on his account on Thursday.

While the post was later deleted, Barstool Sports had a photo of it on its site. There was a picture of a receipt from a movie theater, along with a photo of a scantily-clad woman. The message was this (here is a link):

“I cheated on this girl. I told my girlfriend I was going to the movies alone last night and then she found this receipt. I also shouldn’t have given her my Instagram password like a (dummy).”

The woman is Kennedy Summers, who is/was Withey’s girlfriend. Her Twitter account notes that she was Playboy Magazine’s Playmate of the Year in 2014.

The receipt is for two movie tickets, which apparently fueled Summers’ suspicions. She also tweeted her, um, disappointment. That tweeted was later deleted, but here it is.

Withey, who played at KU from 2009-2013 and is with the Utah Jazz, deleted that post on his Instagram account, and then responded on Facebook:

“Unfortunately a private matter was made public. I am not a cheater, nor would I ever cheat. Went to the movies by myself and picked up the tickets of the person in front of me. Not even my credit card number on the stub. That is all that I will say about the matter and I appreciate my friends, family and followers that know my character standing behind me and never questioning me for a moment.”
