Baseball team adopts puppy it found in parking lot at its stadium

There’s no crying in baseball, but you can make an exception for a lost puppy, right?

The Savannah Bananas (a college summer league team with great nickname) posted an item on their web page about finding a puppy in their stadium parking lot two weeks ago. The team said there were no tags, collar or microchip.

The story said the puppy, which has been named Daisy, was found “crying near the office door. ... Now, Team President Jared Orton and his wife Kelsey have adopted her.”

Daisy is now the team’s bat dog and a regular fixture in the office. You can see why:

“We aren’t sure how big she’ll get, so it’s hard to say if she’ll be able to pick up a bat or just coach first base,” Orton on the website, “but as she grows, she’ll be a fixture at the ballpark.”
