Here are the matchups for the Royals’ sixth-inning song contest
There was a certain writer who is no longer with The Kansas City Star who disliked the song “Centerfield” by John Fogerty.
I won’t name this person, but he was displeased that the song was played in the sixth inning of every Royals game. “Centerfield” was the winning selection in a contest to determine which song to play in that inning.
That contest is back this season, and “Centerfield” is pitted against “Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison. For the record, “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks is not a choice this year. The contest will continue until June 16 when a winner will be determined.
Here is how things work: Fans at home Royal games will get instructions on how to text in the best song of the two (it will be on the Crown Vision board).
