Kevin Harlan’s call of Syracuse’s win: ‘Back from the dead on Easter Sunday’
At the conclusion of Syracuse’s stunning comeback win over Virginia on Sunday, Kevin Harlan made a holiday-specific all.
As a No. 10 seed, The Orange obviously was not expected to make the Final Four. Coach Jim Boeheim was suspended nine games at the start of the season because of allegations of academic fraud by members of his staff.
On Sunday, the Orange overcame a 14-point deficit and beat No. 1 seed Virginia 68-62.
All of that was not lost on Harlan, the Kansas graduate who once called Missouri sports and Chiefs games.
Harlan’s call: “Jim Boeheim and Syracuse have done it. Back from the dead on Easter Sunday.”

Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter, so there was some outrage. But really most people didn’t have a problem with the call:
Had Harlan said, "They crucified them on Good Friday!" I would get the controversy. But isn't the resurrection a happy thing? Why the anger?

Just wait until Passover when Kevin Harlan says LeBron has led the Cavs out of the first round like Moses led the Jews out of Egypt

If I were Kevin Harlan, I'd be getting my apology ready. Quick.

Not sure Kevin Harlan should've said THAT...

Also more offensive than Kevin Harlan, the fact that half of those complaining probably didn't get their butts up for church this morning.

@CBSSportsCBB @CBS An apology is due from Kevin Harlan for his remarks during a game. Saying they rose from the dead on Easter is offensive

What Kevin Harlan said isn't offensive it's just a really unfunny joke #BackFromTheDead

More on Harlan: I'm Catholic and I'm not offended. Even if I was, it shouldn't matter. It was clever, that's it. Did it cross line? Sure
