Sporting Kansas City just pulled off the biggest upset in tournament history.

OK, not really. But USA Today made a “Ultimate Sports Uniform Bracket” of 32 team jerseys and Sporting was the winner. In the finals, Sporting KC’s jersey crushed the Boston Bruins’ sweater, garnering 74 percent of the vote from fans (there were just 6,645 votes).

Sporting KC was a 14 seed, but whipped No. 3 seeded Notre Dame football (65.6 percent of the vote), then beat No. 6 Chicago Cubs (67.2 percent).

In the Sweet 16, Sporting got 74.2 percent and topped the No. 2 Detroit Red Wings, who had bested the St. Louis Cardinals. Then came the most decisive victory of all, beating Michigan football with 83.2 percent of the vote.

In the Final Four, Sporting beat Oregon football (79.5 percent of the vote).

The Kansas basketball jerseys were a first-round loser, falling to Cardinals jerseys.
