K-State fans are not thrilled about sportsmanship video released ahead of KU game
There was a great amount of hand-wringing after last year’s Sunflower Showdown men’s basketball game at Bramlage Coliseum.
Kansas State won the game and fans charged the court. Depending on your perspective (as an Iowa State grad, I’m neutral), it was a terrible injustice or just kids enjoying the moment. It spawned a fake PSA by Wildcats fans.
The teams play on Saturday, and the Kansas State athletic department posted this video to its YouTube channel on Monday:
Those Kansas State fans who had an opinion of the video, were not thrilled about it.
This is unbelievably small time, @kstatesports.https://t.co/g4YTu09G12

@DScottFritchen shouldn't have released it after the fans did such a great job during OU game. Shot to the gut

Really? A sportsmanship video? At least we don't throw live chickens anymore!https://t.co/l6r9jj2API

@DScottFritchen It didn't vibe with me. I understand the logic behind it but it was poorly executed.

@txksufan I remember when we were the angriest fan base in America. I miss that.

The Octagon of Sportsmanship. Wow @kstatesports @John_Currie https://t.co/RLnzK1473a. This is sad.

@DScottFritchen I want kstate to present itself well & with class. But I'm getting tired of the constant reminder to "behave myself"
