Baseball is nearly back.
Royals FanFest is four weeks away and spring training is next month.
One Royals player to keep an eye out for is pitcher Yordano Ventura. He posted a couple of interesting items to his Instagram account on the final day of 2015 (the year the Royals won the World Series).

A couple things stand out here. That’s a new hairstyle and a very long post to accompany the video. I asked my niece Citlali to translate, and she was kind enough to do so. Here is how she interpreted it:
“Where are the ones who said they were my brothers? And we’re worms disguised as humans. I don’t have enemies only people I distance myself from. I also don’t hold anger, though I have a good memory. Blessings to live a normal life, how I live mine. That’s why we only have the one life no one has to tell me how to make a happy 2016. One more for those who don’t believe but thank god we are here. Blessings to all the good men and women and a little to the bad people to show I have your attention”
I’m not sure what that’s all about (maybe someone wronged him), but it’s certainly interesting, wouldn’t you say?
A few hours after that, Ventura posted this:
That is translated this way:
“Thank you Lord for these beautiful words I can read in this day and I hope that others can read with the same intention I God bless all because only he can judge and know who is who AMEN”
The photo is of Proverbs 16:1-3
The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
This is not quite Johnny Cueto type Instagram work, but Ventura is keeping things interesting.
