For Pete's Sake

Royals catcher Salvador Perez, Toronto’s Ben Revere shared a special hug during Game 2

Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez made a bare- handed catch on a foul ball by Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson in the sixth inning. It wasn’t an out because the ball hit a wire that supports the backstop net.

Salvador Perez was hitless in 4 at-bats Saturday in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.

But he had a couple of must-see moments.

First was this fun moment with Toronto’s Ben Revere in the seventh inning. You’ll note that the Royals trailed 3-0 at the time. Perez routinely says how much he loves playing baseball, and this is further proof:

The other play was on a foul ball that hit the top of the screen behind home plate. The ball popped up and back into the field of play where Perez made a great bare-handed catch.

You can’t beat fun at the ol’ ballpark, right?
