Statcast breaks down Alcides Escobar’s diving catch which was dubbed ‘baseball porn’
Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar flashed some leather early in Game 2 of the ALCS on Saturday against the Blue Jays.
In the second inning, Toronto had runners on first and second with one out. Russell Martin scorched a ball that Escobar snagged and turned into a double play as Edwin Encarnacion was out at second.
Statcast broke it down.
The ball had an exit velocity of 110.8 mph, which you can safely say was hard hit.
Actor Rob Riggle, who as you really should know by now, is a huge Royals fan. He gave the play an enthusiastic thumbs up:
That double play by @Alcidesescobar2 was baseball porn! Go Royals!
