A disclaimer, I do like the Muppets. It’s good to acknowledge it.

That’s because there were some irate fans of the new Muppets television show in Chicago on Tuesday night. When the Cubs beat the Cardinals and clinched the National League Division Series, it came just before 7 p.m.

Sure, it was the first time ever for a playoff clincher at Wrigley Field, but the Muppets show was supposed to air on ABC at 7 p.m. However, the Chicago affiliate (Channel 7) kept going with Cubs coverage.

Fans of the show were about as happy as Statler and Waldorf (the old guys in the balcony):

There are more tweets (and some used even harsher language), but you get the idea that there was not happiness in some parts of the Chicago area.
