KC police department, Keith Olbermann among those questioning replay call on Terrance Gore
There was controversy during Game 4 of American League Division Series in Houston.
Royals pinch-runner Terrance Gore appeared to steal third base with two outs in the seventh inning. The Astros challenged the call and it was overturned.
People everywhere, including the Kansas City police department, thought it was a bad call. And it wasn’t just Royals fans who were upset:
That call on Gore was a crime.
— Kansas City Police (@kcpolice) October 12, 2015Glove was not on Gore. Forearm was on him when he came off bag for split second. Easily beat the throw. Easily. Not the spirit of replay.
— Scott Miller (@ScottMillerBbl) October 12, 2015That's not what replay was intended for & it looked like he was slightly pushed off the base. That was garbage. #Royals #Astros #MLBPlayoffs
— Stephen Gorchov (@StephenGorchov) October 12, 2015Better no replay than this nonsense. We'll soon be using electron microscopes to prove there is space between runner and bag.
— Keith Olbermann (@KeithOlbermann) October 12, 2015Valbuena was blocking 3B with his leg. He didn't position himself correctly behind bag. He actually pushed Gore off base. Brutal call.
— Mack McClure (@mackmcclure70) October 12, 2015If we're going to be THAT detailed in replay reviews than the tag should have to be with the actual glove, not the wrist.
— Marty Schottenheimer (@schottenheimah) October 12, 2015@MLB Your replay team sucks. Gore was pushed off the bag there.
— Brian Eubanks (@BrianEub) October 12, 2015In fairness, Terrence Gore never made a "football move".
— Royals Review (@royalsreview) October 12, 2015Instant replay ruins baseball man. Never been caught stealing then he's called out on a review technicality. That's terrible
— Kyle Norris (@K_Nor9) October 12, 2015This is not a tag, @MLB. pic.twitter.com/GmEAqSzQRn
— Jesse Newell (@jessenewell) October 12, 2015Replay is worthless. You can't find anyone outside of Houston that agrees with that call. MLB is broken with their rules. #MLBPlayoffs
— Jeff Abernathy (@JcaWildcat) October 12, 2015Fast runner comes in to change the game. Changes it. A replay challenge on a silly little stutter/shove like that ends an inning. Just dumb.
— Craig Calcaterra (@craigcalcaterra) October 12, 2015@MLB that's has to be the worst call ever in history ! replay has to go next year
— Glo Process.... 10% (@reallyej) October 12, 2015To quote Justice Stewart: I know safe when I see it, that was safe. Harder to codify precisely, but replay should apply that standard.
— JJ Cooper (@jjcoop36) October 12, 2015Let's take a live look at the replay team in New York. pic.twitter.com/DrBZUAQ2hp
— cupKCakes (@cupcakesarenice) October 12, 2015this whole game just turned south with the call on gore
— Daniel Rodenberg (@D_Rode92) October 12, 2015Well, not everyone questioned the call. Astros fans thought it was OK.
I love instant replay.
— Let's Go, Astros! (@JesseGladsaget) October 12, 2015Great challenge by @ajhinch. Terrance Gore ruled out at 3rd and the Minute Maid Park crowd loves it. #Astros pic.twitter.com/iPthUnnDXv
