Soooooooo close for the NFL.

There were reports earlier this month that the NFL completed its first month in six years without a player getting arrested.

On Monday, word came that there was one arrest late on Wednesday, just hours before the end of September. The culprit: Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, the former Missouri star. He is currently with the Tennessee Titans.

Green-Beckham was pulled over in Van Buren in southeast Missouri (a popular stop for outdoors lovers going on Current River, but I’m guessing he was passing through).

The Tennessean has the rest of the story:

Green-Beckham was pulled over Wednesday night on Highway 60 in Missouri for driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. The officer ran the receiver’s license and discovered an outstanding warrant for speeding in Osage Beach, Mo.

The 22-year-old was released after paying $92.48 to settle the ticket. He received a written warning for speeding Wednesday.

The billion-dollar NFL missed some good publicity by $92.48.
