Watch Auburn’s two ugly fumbles in closing minutes of loss to Texas A&M

It’s as if all of the third-ranked Auburn football team’s good fortune from 2013 vanished in the span of about 10 minutes on Saturday.

Texas A&M was nursing a 41-38 lead late in the fourth quarter when Auburn drove inside the 5-yard line. Then this happened:

The Aggies recovered that fumble, but actually lost yardage and punted from inside the 1-yard line.

Auburn again drove inside the 30-yard line and, at worst it seemed, field-goal range. It had picked up a first down with less than a minute to play and then ...

That loss, obviously, could have a huge impact on Auburn’s chances of making the college football playoffs.
