Saturday was day that Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas won’t soon forget.

Moustakas set a team single-game record with nine RBIs and crushed two home runs in a win at Baltimore.

Topping it all off, he now has a Clydesdale horse named after him because of the prodigious effort.

A Clydesdale born Saturday at Warm Springs Ranch was named Moose after Moustakas. Warm Springs Rance is a breeding facility located near Boonville, Mo.

According to the ranch’s web site, “Clydesdales are given short names like Duke, Mark, Captain and Bud so that it’s easier for drivers to give commands to the horses during a performance.”

Here is a solo shot of the new Clydesdale, who should grow to be between 1,600 and 2,400 pounds, according to the Clydesdale Breeders of the USA.
