After hearing that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was joining the Guardians ownership group, one Cleveland radio host dared to dream big.

“My mind automatically went to a pretty crazy place right there,” Ken Carman of 92.3 The Fan said on the air in Cleveland. “I immediately Googled how much did Taylor Swift make on the Eras tour, which according to AI on Google, which is never wrong, it said she personally brought in $2.07 billion then turned back around and it said she personally cleared over $500 million.

“So then, of course, my brain ... I thought it was pretty sane to think of, OK, the year’s 2030 if she’s making $500 million on another tour, how much can she break off for Guardians payroll, would that mean that she could be, or them as a married couple, because you know what’s ours is ours. Does that mean that they could take a bigger stake? ... Could they add to the Cleveland Guardians payroll?”

The Guardians are second-to-last in MLB payroll, but they are currently leading the American League Central division (per Spotrac). Despite that, Cleveland currently leads the division and has won the Central in three of the past four seasons.

But the Guardians haven’t been to the World Series since 2016 and haven’t won the title since 1948.

Could a swift infusion of cash from Swift into the payroll help Cleveland win the World Series for the first time since Harry S Truman was president? That was the hope from some fans, who were quick with a joke.

“I might actually come around on Taylor swift now that my baseball team has access to her bank account,” wrote X user Guardskoto Yuki.

X user kelsi_nichol shared this gem: “what is taylor swift’s plan for a travis bazzana extension?”

Another had this thought: “THE GUARDIANS HAVE TAYLOR SWIFT MONEY.”

But many other Guardians supporters were simply happy that Swift was associated with the team through Kelce.

This is a bit of what those fans were saying.
