Royals fans were not enamoured with the replay officials on Tuesday
While the Royals beat the Reds 3-1 in 13 innings Cincinnati on Tuesday night, Royals fans thought the game was basically wrapped up in the ninth inning.
That’s when Lorenzo Cain scored the go-ahead run on a botched rundown and the Royals took a 2-1 lead. Alas, the replay officials disagreed. In the 11th inning, Alcides Escobar was thrown out trying to stretch a hit into a double. This time, the replay officials upheld the call.
Ned Yost was unhappy and expressed this displeasure to home-plate umpire Mark Carlson, who ejected Yost.
Royals fans expressed their dissatisfaction.
