For Pete's Sake

Stat shows no one has hit the ball harder than Royals’ Jac Caglianone this spring

Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone had a rough rookie season in 2025, but many young players have a difficult time adjusting to Major League Baseball pitchers.

The good news: Caglianone doesn’t seem to have carried any of those troubles into spring training.

Among all MLB hitters, Caglianone has the seventh-best batting average (.400) through six Royals games. His on-base-plus-slugging percentage of 1.284 ranks fifth this spring, whether batters are in Arizona or Florida.

MLB stats guru Sarah Langs shared a crazy note about Caglianone.

Langs wrote on X: “There have been 8 tracked batted balls of 115+ mph so far this spring. Jac Caglianone (3: 120.2 mph double, 116.5 mph double, 115.2 mph HR) is the only player with multiple.”

In other words, no one in the Cactus League or Grapefruit League is hitting the ball harder than Caglianone. He also has walked five times with three strikeouts, which is another good sign.
