For Pete's Sake

Chiefs’ crucial fourth-down decision that backfired baffles and angers fans

During the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Texans, the Chiefs seemed to transform back into the championship form they’ve shown in the past.

The Chiefs outscored the Texans by 10 points to tie the game, and Houston had negative-2 yards of offense.

All the momentum had been on the Chiefs’ side when they got the ball at their 22-yard line in the fourth quarter, but they picked up 9 yards. Punting seemed like the smart move, but the Chiefs went for it and failed.

That gave Houston the ball at KC’s 31-yard line, and they needed just six plays to put the ball in the end zone. That gave Houston the lead and the momentum, and they went on to win 20-10.

Fans were baffled and angered at the fourth-down decision, and they shared that frustration on X. Here is that play and what the fans were saying.
