This likely won’t show up on any end-of-the year list of the best catches in the NFL, but it should.

Chiefs tight end Noah Gray caught a pass in a clutch fourth-quarter situation without using his hands and while suffering a possible concussion.

The Chiefs trailed by 3 but had the ball at the Colts’ 48-yard line with 3:46 left in regulation. It was third-and-8 when Gray somehow hauled in a Patrick Mahomes pass for a 5-yard gain.

That gave the Chiefs a much more manageable fourth-down play, which they converted and eventually got a game-tying field goal to force overtime.

Gray made the catch despite being injured, and later was in the concussion protocol.

You don’t have to catch a pass with your hands, so Gray’s grab with his legs was legal. He was touched down by the Colts receiver without the ball hitting the ground, making it a legal reception.

But there are contrarians everywhere on social media, and some thought the catch should not have counted (although most folks were blown away by the play). Others seemed oddly unaware that NFL players can catch a pass without using their hands.
