For Pete's Sake

Fans in KC can get a free taco on Monday thanks to Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy

Torchy’s Tacos on Thursday announced a partnership with Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy and his foundation, and it paid immediate dividends for fans.

“This season, we’ve teamed up with Xavier Worthy and his Worthy 1’s Foundation to turn big plays into even bigger impact,” Torchy’s wrote in an Instagram post.

The Worthy 1’s website said it “is a non-profit dedicated to helping transform the lives of single mothers and their children from surviving to thriving.”

As part of the collaboration, Torchy’s Tacos is offering a buy-one, get-one free taco whenever Worthy has a run or catch of 30 yards or more in a game. Worthy returned to the Chiefs on Sunday after being injured three plays into the season and made an immediate impact.

That included a 37-yard reception from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the first quarter that triggered the giveaway. Worthy also had a 35-yard run in the second quarter.

How to get free taco

Here is how to get that free taco, and it’s available at all Torchy’s locations across the country.

  • Use code TORCH30 when ordering online or in the restaurant
  • You must buy one taco to get the second one free
  • The deal is good through Tuesday night (Sept. 30)

Torchy’s said it also will donate $1 to the Worthy 1’s foundation each time the offer is used. Torchy’s is at 11919 S. Strang Line Road in Olathe.
