Tyrann Mathieu, a special TV plan, free steak: What to know about Chiefs’ game
The Chiefs are bringing back one of their favorite sons for Sunday’s game against the Eagles at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Tyrann Mathieu, who retired from the NFL earlier this year after 12 seasons, will bang the drum before the Super Bowl LIX rematch.
Mathieu played for the Chiefs from 2019-21, and helped the team win Super Bowl LIV.
Mathieu’s appearance is one of the things to know about what’s happening at Arrowhead this Sunday.
Fox pregame show in KC
The “Fox NFL Sunday” show will be held at the KC Live! stage in the Kansas City Power & Light District on Sunday and then move to Arrowhead Stadium.
The show’s hosts Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Rob Gronkowski and Jay Glazer will be at the Power & Light District starting at 10 a.m.
When the pregame show ends at noon, the crew will travel to Arrowhead Stadium, where they will broadcast halftime coverage of the noon NFL games.
During the pregame show at KC Live!, Fox said it will have Charissa Thompson, Charles Woodson and Julian Edelman at Arrowhead Stadium. That’s where “a local pit master will showcase the art of grilling delicious regional cuisine as only Kansas City can offer,” the network said.
Free steak
Omaha Steaks will be host to a “Flavor Faceoff Challenge” at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
The company said it will be “an epic taste-off between Omaha Steaks USDA Certified Very Tender filets and other grassfed, grass-finished alternatives.”
It’ll take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. outside the T-Mobile Gate, and tailgaters will have a chance to sample fares from Omaha Steaks and other companies.
