Patrick Mahomes stars in new State Farm commercial with singer Meghan Trainor
The Chiefs’ athletic trainers normally work behind the scenes, but Julie Frymyer was celebrated by fans in 2023.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain in the first half of the Chiefs’ divisional playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that year, and things looked bleak.
Instead, Mahomes played through the pain that day and over the next month. Despite the gimpy ankle, he led the Chiefs to a win in Super Bowl LVII. Mahomes credited Frymyer with helping him get ready to play.
Chiefs fans will get a look at Frymyer in a new commercial from State Farm. She’s seen taping a player’s ankle at the start of the spot, and then Mahomes realizes he’s working with singer Meghan Trainor, who tries putting a knee brace on the three-time Super Bowl MVP’s arm.
“Nope, it’s not for that,” Mahomes says.
“Who are you?” Trainor asks.
“Patrick,” he responds. “I play football.”
It’s a cute new commercial, and one NFL fans likely will see frequently in the coming months.
