KU football team will wear special colorway jerseys for a Big 12 game this fall
A couple of years ago, the Kansas football team debuted special “Blackhawk” uniforms for a game against Illinois.
They were dressed in all black (helmets, jerseys, pants, socks, cleats) for that game, hence the name. KU brought that look back last year for a game against UNLV.
Adidas announced Friday that the jerseys will be returning in 2025 ... with a twist.
“Back by popular demand, Kansas’ ‘Blackhawk’ uniform returns in a white colorway,” Adidas said in a news release. “It features the classic 1941 Jayhawk bird head, circus-style font, and a gameday flag above the player numbers on the back neck.”
Those uniforms will be worn for KU’s game against UCF on Oct. 4.
Adidas said in the release that “the uniforms were created in close collaboration with the university, leveraging inspiration from the culture, legacy and traditions that make Kansas so unique.”
Here is a closer look at what the Jayhawks will be wearing in that game. KU will be wearing white pants, but Adidas said a decision hasn’t been made about the helmets.
It appears that KU will wear white helmets for that game, judging by a video the Jayhawks shared Friday on X.
