Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce got taste test at their steakhouse. Take a look

Chiefs star Travis Kelce nearly spilled the beans on when his 1587 Prime steakhouse will be opening.

During an episode of his New Heights podcast last month, Kelce talked about the restaurant, which will be in the Loews Kansas City hotel. His partner is teammate and friend, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“You already know, baby. Opening up ... soon,” Kelce said, seeming to catch himself before letting the date slip. We’re gonna get that thing up and running. And once it’s up and running, it’s gonna be a machine, serving Kansas City and all the Chiefs Kingdom and whoever else wants to come and enjoy a meal that me and Pat are giving to the city.”

There’s no official opening date for the steakhouse, but it’s coming soon. And those two got a sneak peek at what will be served. Mahomes and Kelce got to taste test some of the dishes, as a video shared by 1587 shows.

“We invited our friends, @patrickmahomes and @killatrav, for a first taste of the 1587 Prime menu,” the restaurant shared. “Here’s how it went…”

The restaurant, which is at 1500 Baltimore Avenue, will be on two floors and have a football theme to it.

This is from a news release earlier this year: “The street-level entrance, designed to emulate a stadium tunnel walk, dramatically leads guests to the host stand highlighted by a 10-foot-wide refrigerated meat display at the front of the restaurant. Additionally, brass inlay tick markers subtly line the entrance floor, mimicking field lines. In the main dining area, red marbling details on the tabletops hint at the football players’ team colors, while the seating and various art pieces throughout are inspired by deconstructed football shapes.”
