Cubs fans get a Twitter lesson on the power of Royals fans

No doubt about it. Anthony Rizzo’s catch in the Cubs’ game Wednesday night was amazing.

Rizzo jumped on the tarp, balanced himself there and made a catch before falling into the stands.

ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” took to Twitter on Thursday to ask if that was the top “Web Gem” and if it should supplant the Omar Infante-Alcides Escobar flip for a 4-6-3 putout against the Indians last month.

Not surprisingly, the Infante-Escobar play was winning the vote as of noon. Cubs fans couldn’t believe it.

But there was one theory as to why the vote wasn’t going Rizzo’s way:
