KC fan shocked to learn McDonald’s drive-thru worker is Chiefs’ Trent McDuffie
Amanda Taylor and her daughter stopped by McDonald’s in Blue Springs for a bite to eat on Friday afternoon, and they made a wise decision by going through the drive-thru.
After ordering and paying for their food, their meal was delivered by someone they’ve cheered for the past few years.
Chiefs defensive back Trent McDuffie.
Taylor guessed that McDuffie was at the McDonald’s because he was filming a commercial, but she wasn’t certain about that.
She was, however, positive about one thing: It was a fun experience.
“It was a huge surprise!! I had no idea,” Taylor wrote in a message to The Star. “And a lot of people didn’t know who he was. They just thought he was a nice guy at the drive thru lol.”
Taylor share video of the interaction on her TikTok account.
That was Taylor’s daughter asking McDuffie, who was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, to deliver a message to tight end Travis Kelce.
“My daughter is 10, and obviously loves Kelce,” Taylor wrote on TikTok. “She doesn’t know any better. I on the other hand love Trent and I didn’t disrespect him.”
Trent McDuffie’s foundation
Also on Friday, McDuffie’s foundation was host to a VIP event at the Kansas City Zoo for children and families served by Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care and Solace House Center.
According to a news release, the T22 McDuffie Foundation wanted to “give families caring for terminally ill children a rare opportunity to simply enjoy time together, as a family — outside the confines of hospitals and daily medical routines.”
McDuffie shared why the event was important to him.
“Caring for a terminally ill child is a heartbreaking journey no family should have to walk alone,” McDuffie said in a news release. “We wanted to create a day full of love, laughter and connection — a moment for those families to breathe and just be together.”
