Chiefs’ season opener is in 100 days, and fans are lamenting how time flies

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) mumbles “Wow” while walking off the field following the Chiefs’ 16-14 victory over the Denver Broncos during an NFL game on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Wednesday marks 100 days until the Chiefs open the 2025 season against the Chargers in Brazil and players are already hard at work.

Organized Team Activities (or OTAs if you prefer) have begun, and as the NFL notes, no live contact is allowed. Over a 10 day period, teams can hold 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.

The Chiefs on Tuesday shared a video of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Creed Humphrey, Xavier Worthy and others arriving at the team facility.

There’s little doubt the Chiefs’ lopsided loss in Super Bowl LIX is a motivation for the players. And fans also will be eager to watch the team play again.

Since Mahomes became their starting quarterback, the Chiefs have won three Super Bowl titles, won the AFC Championship Game five times and appeared in the conference title game in seven straight seasons.

Fans reflected on how time flies, especially since the Chiefs noted that Mahomes is entering his ninth NFL season. He will turn 30 in September. Here is a bit of what fans were saying on X.
