Major League Baseball has been all-in on the Jac Caglianone hype train
Jac Caglianone has been on a serious hot streak since being promoted to Triple-A Omaha a week ago, but there was simply no way he was going to hit a home run on Monday.
That’s because the Storm Chasers didn’t play.
In six games with Omaha, Caglianone hit five home runs with 10 RBIs and a .346 batting average.
Thus, it’s no surprise that Royals general manager J.J. Picollo spent much of his time with the media on Monday talking about the franchise’s top prospect.
“We don’t have a timetable,” Picollo said of when Caglianone might join the Royals. “It’s a incredible first week. I mean, he can’t do much better than what he just did in his first week. So it’s good to see. Certainly excited about it, but we’ll just keep evaluating it week to week.”
Social media went bonkers over Caglianone’s exploits first week at Triple-A.
Since being selected in the first round of last year’s MLB Draft, Caglianone has played in just 73 games in the minor leagues, so you perhaps can understand why the Royals are remaining cautious with him.
But the Caglianone hype train is at full steam, and even though he has yet to play in a Major League Baseball game, the league is fully on board. Just this season, MLB has shared a number of social-media posts touting the exploits of Caglianone, even though he’s in the minor leagues.
Here’s what MLB has posted on the Royals’ top prospect.
Major League Baseball’s social media team is going to be thrilled when the Royals finally promote Caglianone.
