Messi, OBJ, Tom Brady and F1: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has big weekend in Miami
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are more than just teammates on the field.
The NFL stars have partnered on a steakhouse that will open this summer in Kansas City, and the Chiefs teammates also invested in the Alpine Racing Formula One team.
“They’re also dedicated to their sport and their bodies and working towards their goals, so it’s great to see that reciprocated and, for us, to be able to chat about our differences in sport,” Alpine driver Jack Doohan told the New York Post last week about Mahomes and Kelce.
Doohan and fellow Alpine driver Pierre Gasly were in Florida this week for Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix. Ditto for Mahomes, who met with Gasly ahead of the race.
And Mahomes was looking sharp.
Mahomes was joined by his wife, Brittany, the Kansas City Current co-owner, and they took in an Inter Miami game on Saturday night. Mahomes, who is an Adidas athlete, applauded another: Lionel Messi.
This came after Messi scored a goal.
Mahomes wasn’t the only big-name athlete at the game. Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was at the game and cameras caught Mahomes and OBJ having a discussion.

On Friday night, Mahomes ran into former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who is now part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
They saw the rapper Jelly Roll, and the singer made a point of talking with Mahomes.
