Former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard went viral shortly after the NFL Draft when a video showed him manifest getting selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Howard, who was selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, was relieved to finally get the call that he’d be joining an NFL team.

It was a long wait for Howard, who played four seasons for the Wildcats before moving to Ohio State where he won a national championship with the Buckeyes. How long was that wait?

Well, it was more than his dog could handle.

A viral video from NFL Films showed Howard talking with his dog, who was on the couch next to him.

“Go back to sleep,” Howard told the pup, whose head got scratched by the Steelers quarterback. “I’ll wake you if anything happens.”

This is fun.

We didn’t see Howard wake the dog but here’s guessing the canine companion was advised of the development.

That was just one fun dog moment from the NFL Draft. When the Saints drafted quarterback Tyler Shough, his dog Murphy was really excited.
