You may have missed it Thursday, but during the first round of the NFL Draft, there was an announcement between the announcement of the picks.

The NFL will reveal the entire 272-game schedule on May 14, so Chiefs fans will know when and where their favorite team will be playing this fall.

There’s a good chance we’ll learn about when few of those Chiefs games will be scheduled before then. Here’s what we know right now.

2025 opponents

The Chiefs will play nine home games and eight road contests. Here is the breakdown of their opponents:

Home: Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

Road: Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans.

Brazil bound?

The Chiefs have been mentioned as a potential opponent for the Chargers, who open the season in São Paulo, Brazil. It will be played on Sept. 6.

Chiefs CEO and chairman Clark Hunt was asked about that possibility during a news conference. He is open to the idea.

“So, we’re open to playing internationally whenever we have the opportunity,” Hunt said. “We have the marketing rights to a number of countries now, and we would be excited to play in any one of those countries, but I’ve also heard the speculation about Brazil and being the Chargers’ opponent, and it’s something that we would welcome and embrace.

“I don’t know when the NFL is going to announce it, it’s usually a little bit ahead of the schedule release, so we’ll probably know in the coming days.”

Using that timeline, an announcement on the Chargers’ opponent for the Brazil game could come as soon as this week.

Christmas talk

The Chiefs have made their desire to play annually on Christmas, but they are unlikely to get picked for that day this season. The Chiefs have played on Christmas Day in the previous two seasons.

“I know the Chiefs are raising their hands, supposedly. But that’s a lot to ask your fans to come out every year on Christmas,” Mike North, NFL’s vice president of broadcast planning and scheduling, said on the “It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo” podcast. ”Certainly, while you’re good and you’re winning AFC West titles and fighting for Super Bowls, yeah, it’s an easy give. If five years from now — after Patrick Mahomes retires and they’re not the perennial division champion and in every AFC Championship Game — I’m not sure we want to be married to a site.

“There’s been other teams that have raised their hands to become permanent hosts of things like Black Friday or Christmas. Thus far, we’ve avoided committing to something like that. Never say never. Let’s see what the next few years bring. But I don’t think we’re today going to commit to a permanent third host for Thanksgiving, a permanent host for Black Friday or a permanent host for Christmas.”
