The Royals don’t have a reason to comment on the players selected by the Chiefs in the NFL Draft. Usually.

But when the Chiefs selected Utah State wide receiver Jalen Royals in the fourth round of the draft on Saturday, it led to this fun message on X.

Royals told reporters said he was just starting to get into baseball, but he did know the Major League Baseball team in KC is named the Royals.

Fox 4 sports anchor Harold Kuntz asked Royals if he was looking forward to the marketing opportunities he’ll have with the Royals-Chiefs connection.

“For sure,” Royals said with a smile.

Kansas City sports fans are certainly excited, and many said they were going to get a jersey.

While we don’t know what number Royals will pick/be assigned with the Chiefs, fans will be able to buy his jersey at the Chiefs Pro Shop. If you’re impatient, you could order one now and just pick a number.

Here is how a Jalen Royals Chiefs jersey looks with a few numbers I chose for him.
