Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ half-brother could join an NFL team on Saturday
There are four rounds left in the 2025 NFL Draft, and then it’ll be chaos.
Players who don’t hear their name called among the 257 draft picks made this year will have another chance to join an NFL team.
NFL teams will be signing undrafted free agents as soon as Mr. Irrelevant is revealed at the draft. That’s the nickname for the final pick in the NFL Draft.
One player who might just get such an opportunity is Rice tight end Graham Walker. While he might not be familiar to many football fans in Kansas City, they do know his half-brother: Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
As the Sporting News noted, Walker’s parents are Pat Mahomes Sr. and Jessamyn Walker, and Graham Walker grew up with his mother and stepfather, Gerry Howatt. Walker grew up in Vermont, Yahoo Sports reported.
Walker, who started his college career at Brown, had 24 receptions for 252 yards last fall for the Owls.
Mahomes has encouraged Walker.
“I know Patrick has been watching the games, and he’s reached out and said the good things that I’ve been doing,” Walker told Seven Days. “When someone who’s accomplished so much can say you’re doing well, it really feels good.”
It remains to be seen if a team takes a chance on Walker, but it would be something if the Chiefs signed him and he could catch passes from his half-brother.
“I like to think that I am a tight end who has the skills of a wide receiver,” Walker told Seven Days.
