A year ago, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his family were back in Texas and he spent at least a little time fishing.

Mahomes caught a giant catfish, and his wife, Brittany, the KC Current co-owner, shared a photo on her Instagram story. In one arm, Patrick Mahomes held his daughter Sterling, who was 3 years old at the time. With his free hand, Mahomes held the fish.

Ster not a fan of a fish the same size as her,” Brittany Mahomes wrote with the photo and included a laughing emoji.

Things have changed in a year. Sterling and her younger brother, Bronze, caught some smaller fish, and their parents have shared photos on social media of their catches.

But Sterling was just getting warmed up. Patrick Mahomes posted a picture of Sterling with a big fish of her own. He seemed like a proud papa as he included two heart emojis.

This is quite a catch for Sterling.

I can’t even handle this,” Brittany Mahomes wrote as she reposted her husband’s picture.
