FanDuel Sports Network says ratings are way up for Royals broadcasts this year
The Royals seem to have caught their fans’ attention following the club’s remarkable turnaround last season.
After losing 106 games in 2023, the Royals increased their win total by 30 games a year ago and advanced to the American League Division Series. Many Major League Baseball pundits believed the Royals would continue that success into the 2025 season and fan interest in the team has jumped.
The Royals’ season opener averaged a 5.18 household rating on FanDuel Sports Kansas City, an increase of more than 25% from a year earlier. It was the top ranked program on cable that day.
The FanDuel Sports Network, which was known as Bally Sports Kansas City last season, said the viewership numbers have remained robust since opening day.
