Fan at Royals game ate 11 hot dogs Tuesday, one for every Cole Ragans strikeout

You may know the Harry Caray saying, “You can’t beat fun at the ‘ol ballpark,” but the Royals’ 2-1 win Tuesday over the Minnesota Twins wasn’t completely enjoyable for one fan.

A fan with the X handled Cole Ragans Enjoyer was at Kauffman Stadium to watch his favorite pitcher, and shared with fans on social media his plan for the night.

For every strikeout Ragans recorded, this fan planned to eat a hot dog.

Ragans, who finished fourth in Cy Young Award voting a year ago, had a sensational night, striking out 11 in six innings of work.

That meant, gulp, 11 hot dogs had to be consumed in the game, which lasted 2 hours, 33 minutes. For Joey Chestnut, that’s no problem. But for an average person, that’s a lot of hot dogs.

The Royals fan shared his progress through the night and noted “Send prayers” at one point. When he had finished the culinary experiment, the fan wrote, “A needle would make me implode.”
