When the Royals play host to the Cleveland Guardians on July 25, the team will be giving out free T-shirts to fans.

That day also will mark the 35th anniversary of the last time a Royals player hit for the cycle. George Brett did it on July 25, 1990, against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Here’s a trivia question: When is the last time a Royals prospect hit for the cycle?

That’s a trick question. It happened Wednesday.

Outfielder Drew Waters was the first minor-league player to get a single, double, triple and home run in a game this season when he accomplished the feat for the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers.

And Waters did it the hard way, hitting an inside-the-park home run and an infield single.

Waters went 4 for 5 with five RBIs and two runs scored as the Storm Chasers beat the Louisville Bats 12-6.

Here is video of Waters hitting for the cycle.
