KU football picked as worst among the power five conferences, according one ranking
Here’s the thing we all know about preseason rankings: They mean nothing.
So what if Ohio State is No. 1 in the nation? Ditto for Kansas football, which was recently ranked last.
LostLettermen.com ranked the five worst teams among the five power conferences, and the Jayhawks got the uncoveted No. 1 spot.
Here is part of what they wrote:
“One day in the near future David Beaty might restore Kansas to some form of legitimacy, or at least the prospect of winning more than three games a season. But if the night is darkest before the dawn, and the dawn really is on its way, then 2015 could be the worst season of Jayhawks football in some time.
“We realize those are ominous words to use for a program that since 2010 has won 3, 2, 1, 3 and 3 games a season, respectively. …
“Fortunately it might not always be this bad in Lawrence. On the other hand, it might never be as bad as it will be in 2015.”
