Roughly a month before Super Bowl LIV, the Chiefs signed running back Mike Weber to the practice squad.

Weber never appeared in a playoff game for the Chiefs, who beat the 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV. But the team still gave Weber a championship ring. He is now selling it through Heritage Auctions.

Here is a description from the Heritage website: “Two marquise cut diamonds symbolize the two Lombardi Trophies in franchise history, with sixty diamonds in the arrowhead representing the sixty years of the team’s existence. The fifty diamonds that surround the rubies and logo signify the years between championships, while the sixteen custom cut rubies are the sum of AFC West division titles (10) and appearances under head coach Andy Reid (6). The 122 diamonds around the top edges recognize the NFL centennial and the team’s twenty-two playoff appearances. ‘World Champions’ stands in raised text at the perimeter of the face. Four princess cut rubies symbolize four straight AFC West titles.”

As of Wednesday morning, the top bid for the ring was $18,500. You can make a bid at sports.ha.com.

That’s chump change compared to a game-used Patrick Mahomes jersey from the 2020 season that is also part of the auction.

Mahomes wore it during the Chiefs’ 35-31 win over the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. It has stains from the game and Mahomes wrote a personal message to Foster Moreau, the Saints tight end who started his career with the Raiders.

This is the description from Heritage: “There’s a significant amount of that green turf dye on the front of the garment, where number ‘15’ is applied in red and yellow tackle twill below a Lamar Hunt AFL patch, but flip the jersey over and the ‘Mahomes 15’ is darkened by a couple square feet of that dye. Number ‘15’ is applied in smaller format to the shoulders. Interior collar is tagged, ‘NFL/Nike [size] 42 On-Field Q-BK’ with ‘2020’ and ‘+5 Length’ flap tags at each side. Hem is elasticized. Rear numeral is inscribed in 9/10 black sharpie to Raiders tight end Foster Moreau, reading, ‘To 87, Keep being a beast on the field & even better guy off of it! Patrick Mahomes #15.’”

As of Wednesday morning, the top bid was $140,000.

There are some other items of note up for auction.

A Super Bowl LVII ring given to Matthew Hawkins, who had been part of a member of the Chiefs’ Stadium Operations & Events team, is being auctioned through Heritage. This one, however, has “faux diamonds on the top,” Heritage said.

A Travis Kelce game-used jersey from the 2018 season is available. It was from the Chiefs’ 29-28 loss to the Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
