Chiefs’ Travis Kelce on how Eras Tour appearance with Taylor Swift shocked him

Singer Taylor Swift played in sold-out stadiums around the globe on her recently completed Eras Tour, and boyfriend Travis Kelce was frequently on hand to lend his moral support.

And Kelce even helped out at one of the concerts.

Kelce’s focus is now on football. He and the Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Super Bowl LIX, and the television audience likely will top 100 million in the United States. Millions more will watch around the globe. Swift will be at the Caesars Superdome supporting Kelce, too.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Kelce was interviewed by Westwood One’s Laura Okmin, who asked about his appearance last summer on stage at Wembley Stadium during one of Swift’s shows.

“I’ve been on a few stages in my life, that one was definitely the most shocking,” Kelce said. “I felt like an ant in a whole new world. The stadium, the lights, the crowd and how they went insane. And the whole time, I’m thinking here, ‘Oh snap, I’ve got a job to do. And I’ve got to lock in. And I’ve got to make this fun, I’ve got to make this entertaining.’ Tay gave me the opportunity to go up there and have some fun, why not show how much fun we really can have up there?

“Sure enough, the crowd was off their rocker. It was insane in there for a quite a while, and a memory I’ll never forget.”

Kelce was asked to compare that concert appearance to playing in a big game for the Chiefs.

One similarity is the camaraderie he felt with dancers Cam Saunders and Jan Ravnik, along with Swift. It was like being part of a team to him.

“For the most part, the biggest difference is I’m in a football uniform and a helmet,” Kelce said, “I’ve got a completely different game plan than just going out there and having fun.”

Here is that part of the interview.
