Chiefs’ Justin Reid beat Trent McDuffie in a spirited game of Rochambeau on Thursday
A handful of Chiefs players spoke to the media Thursday, and it created a bit of a traffic jam at the podium.
Chiefs defensive backs Justin Reid and Trent McDuffie arrived at the same time to field questions, and they determined who would speak first by playing a game that dates back centuries.
It’s called Rock Paper Scissors by some, while others know it as Rochambeau.
The game took four rounds, but Reid prevailed with rock, which we all know beats scissors.
“You saw me losing at Rock Paper Scissors,” McDuffie said with a smile when it was his turn to speak.
Todd Leabo of Sports Radio 810 asked if McDuffie if the Chiefs often use Rochambeau to settle matters.
“Not too much. Honestly, that’s one of my things,” McDuffie. “Whenever we’re doing something, even like on the field we’ve got to go cover someone or blitz or something, it’s like Rock Paper Scissors it out, but keep it easy.”
Here are videos of the fun from KCTV-5 sports director Marleah Campbell and Fox 4 sports anchor Harold Kuntz.
