Defensive lineman Khalen Saunders helped the Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl LVII before signing a free-agent deal with the New Orleans Saints in 2023.

Saunders was live-tweeting during the AFC Championship Game, and it was from the perspective of a Chiefs fan.

“GOTTA KNOW THAT ZERO BLITZ COMING ON CRITICAL DOWNS!” he wrote on X after the Chiefs stopped the Bills’ final drive. “Spags you diabolical SOB you”

Later he wrote: “Damn. Another arrowhead invitational in The books. lol I’m so happy i ain’t in the afc no more them boys too raw.”

Then the talk turned to quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who guided the Chiefs to their fifth Super Bowl appearance in the past six seasons.

“Goatrick Mahomes,” Saunders wrote with emojis of a goat and a frog. He later shared what former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill had posted: “Man the goat of our era.”

Former Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who also plays for the Saints, reposted a number of things Saunders wrote.

Saunders caught grief from some other fans, but explained in a post why he, Gay, Hill, L’Jarius Sneed and other former Chiefs are pulling for them to win Super Bowl LIX and get the three-peat.

“Yall gotta understand, For guys like myself, the cheetah, @WillieGayJr, sneed, and others that have moved on from the chiefs still want to see them do good bc at the end of the day, this ... is history we are witnessing. And we part of that. So yes whenever i ain’t in it it’s KC,” Saunders wrote.

“And (I don’t care) what folks got to say about it cuz I’m a competitor first and foremost. I literally had my best game ever against my former team so clearly i ain’t taking (it) easy on them but yea unless it’s Saints vs. chiefs I’m always gon root for my former brothers”
