Home is where Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ heart is.

In this case, it’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs will play host to the Buffalo Bills in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

At a news conference Thursday, Mahomes talked about Chiefs fans and the energy they bring during games at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Chiefs Kingdom is always, they’re always passionate, they’re always loud,” Mahomes said. “I would just say let’s see if we can take it up a notch, let’s see how loud this place can really get. But I always appreciate the support and the love that they show for us and so I’m just excited for another AFC Championship back at Arrowhead Stadium.”

It might be tough to get even louder at Arrowhead on Sunday.

Vivid Seats’ Fan Forecast is predicting that Bills fans will make up roughly 40% of the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium for Sunday’s game. That would be a significant amount of blue in the stands.

Bills fans traveled well during the season and were on Vivid Seats’ top five teams with the highest average road crowd presence (averaging 42% of opposing crowds).

High demand for tickets

StubHub reported that ticket sales are 50% higher than for the Chiefs-Bills Divisional playoff game a year ago in Buffalo.

Sales this year also are 140% higher than the AFC Championship Game in 2021 at Arrowhead Stadium and 20% higher than the AFC Championship Game in 2023.
